Summer 2016

“Come with me,’ Mom says. To the library. Books and summertime go together.” ― Lisa Schroeder, I Heart You, You Haunt Me

Summers are always busy at the library.  This year we have our usual Summer Reading Program, featuring a sports theme, “On Your Mark, Get Set, Read!”  Register your children soon to get in on all the action!

Also this summer, we’ll be featuring a film series every Friday afternoon in July.  Continuing the sports theme, this year we’ll show “A League of Their Own” with Tom Hanks and Geena Davis; “Miracle” with Kurt Russell and Patricia Clarkson;  and “Concussion” with Will Smith and Alec Baldwin.  We’ll also show some other films throughout the summer, so keep watching our calendar for upcoming events!

And what can be more relaxing than sitting under a tree, reading a good book?  We own such a wide variety of items for your reading pleasure, we’re sure you’ll find one with a topic to your liking.  Space doesn’t permit all of our newest titles, so this is just a tiny sample:

Bill O’Reilly’s Legends and Lies by David Fisher

Valiant Ambition: George Washington, Benedict Arnold, and the fate of the American Revolution by Nathaniel Philbrick

All Summer Long: a San Francisco Romance by Melody Carlson

Delilah: Treacherous Beauty by Angela Elwell Hunt

End of Watch by Stephen King

The Cavendon Luck by Barbara Taylor Bradford

And of course, if you would like to read any book and we don’t own it, we can always try to borrow it from another library with our Inter Library Loan Service!
